When I think back on my life, I fell in love with tourism at the highschool. This was the place where I could first get a glimpse into the mysteries of this wonderful profession.

My name is Melinda Kiss I graduated in Travel and Turism in 2003 at Tinódi Lantos Sebestyén Highschool in Sárvár. I've always been interested in the hotel industry, that was the reason why I choosed Travel and Turism. I loved to learn it so much and of course I continued my studies in Székesfehérvár at Kodolányi János College, Tourism techical.

In the last year of the college I spent my practice in a 5 star hotel in Bükfürdő, called Radisson SAS Birdland Resort and Spa (Today called Greenfield Hotel). I spent the whole practice time at the housekeeping section. I could try the housekeeping supervisor position,the minibar checking and the chambermaid’s excercises and I loved all of them so much.

After graduation in 2007 september I got an opportunity to work in the newly opened Spirit Hotel Thermal Spa ***** as a Housekeeping Supervisor. As the years went by I have mastered the tasks, I saw into the operation of a large hotel and I tried to absorb as much knowledge as I could.

In 2016 I became the head of community areas which include the whole area in the hotel except the rooms. My task was to guarantee complete cleanliness which was expected in a 5 star hotel.

In 2017 I became the Executive Housekeeper, and I've been working in this position ever since.

Now under my control work 26 chambermaids, 16 cleaners, 8 housekeeping supervisors, 2 mainteners and an upstairs londiner.

When I think back on my life, I fell in love with tourism at the highschool. This was the place where I could first get a glimpse into the mysteries of this wonderful profession.

I will be forever grateful to my teachers at the time, who guided me on this path because that's why I can do what I love every day. And here I would like to thank my family also that they tolerate the fact that I'm not at home on weekends and holidays because I have to work. We always say in the hotel: „We live a reverse life: when other people are resting, we work. When people are working, we rest”.

For me, life is beautiful like this.
